LUMiFrac ® - the Uber-Adhesion Tester

There are probably as many opinions on the best adhesion testing method as there are adhesion testers. We make no claims of being better or worse than the rest.

However, the LUMiFrac® adhesion analyzer is unique in its design and capabilities.

Whether or not that fits your needs, only you can decide.

The LUMiFrac® allows for more adhesion testing capabilities compared to traditional tests.

The LUMiFrac® uses controlled centrifugal forces and real-time in-situ detectors to measure adhesion and cohesion strengths.

For example, you can perform stress tests in continuous but sequential steps.

Create a multistep stress test SOP. Part one of a multistep sequence is to expose the adhesive joint to stresses below its failure point by applying a sinusoidal force over extended periods. The second part of the continuous multistep SOP is an increase in the applied force until failure occurs. This allows you to see if previous stresses affected the final break-point.

You can vary the pull-off force rate (linear, non-linear ramp, etc.), giving you additional insight into the failure mechanism.

Measure both tensile and shear stresses.

The LUMiFrac® is temperature-controlled so that you can investigate temperature effects.

Because you can run up to eight samples simultaneously, the LUMiFrac® gives you statistically relevant results quickly.
